The Be A Student's Friend (BASF) scholarship is a need-based scholarship for students who are currently enrolled in one of ICSF's 107 inner-city schools. Families earning $35,000 or less per year can apply. Scholarships once awarded follow the students until he/she finishes high school, assuming the student meets scholarship criteria including income guidelines and minimum grade requirements (at least a 75% grade point average.)
The application process begins at the school where the student is enrolled. School Principals are responsible for distributing applications to parents each Spring. If you are interested in a scholarship for your boy or girl you must contact the Principal at the school where your student is enrolled. The BASF office does not hand out applications directly to parents.
Once your application is approved your child's name will be put on a wait list. Each year about 150 students make up this list. Students are generally connected with a sponsor by the end of the school year.
