Individuals, corporations and foundations enjoy giving to The Cardinal's Scholarship Program (CSP). This scholarship initiative in 2007/08 alone provided nearly 6,200 low-income public school families with tuition assistance to send their children to an inner city Catholic elementary school of the Archdiocese of New York.
For every dollar contributed to this program, a match of 2:1 is applied, making contributions go a long way. In total last year about $8 million in scholarships were granted, helping inner city children receive an education that will help break the cycle of poverty that some of their families have lived in for generations.
